Crochet Pattern Granny Square Blanket

TI'm done! The (English) Crochet Pattern Colorful Granny Square Blanket is in the Color 'n Cream Shop.

This is by far my longest tutorial yet. I'm quite proud of it, actually. I think it's very clear and detailed, as usual. So now you guys can make this pretty blanket for yourself!

It's been very rainy here these last few days. I love it actually. A little time to wear long sleeves and socks and stay in for a few days. We are crafting and watching movies... Lovely!

The Sunday Market was fun, although I didn't sell much/anything. It wasn't the right place for me, but the atmosphere was so nice and very inspiring. I wouldn't want to live in Amsterdam, but when I visit there I always come home totally inspired. Do you have a city you love??

Now I'm working on the new Flower Coaster Pattern, and after that I will get started on the Pink Flower Doily Pattern. I have lots and lots in store for you!

I hope to be back tomorrow, but I can't make any promises at the moment. The holiday is coming our way and my girls are pretty hyper. I need to distract them with little trips to sand and water, or grass and farm animals, stuff like that. Oh how I LOVE  summer!

Monday Chit Chat

Pfff, I had a crazy busy week! I'm glad it's over now. I always think it's weird around easter, having monday off and stuff. But than visitors from Thailand, a school field trip for both my girls, a birthday party for about 30 people and selling our junk at a flee market, all in the short week after easter, is even crazier!!

But now, I'm in my craft room, kids are staying over at grandma, my man is at his office and I can breathe again... And I did get some crochet going, even this week!!

I finished the Color Bomb Baby Blanket. Although I do still need to make the edging (and turn it in to a tutorial..). I love this blanket. I think it might be my best yet! I will make the Join-As-You-Go tutorial this week also, so you can make your own!

Also I need to finish this cushion panel. I love the pastel colors, and I think this one will have an edge around it. Need to figure this out...

Also started something new with my scraps. I'm really not to sure about the colors yet, but I will find a way to use them. I will show you shortly!

Travel Granny Scraps Blanket

I forgot to show you guys the result of my Granny Scraps Blanket. It's become quite the Color Bomb hasn't it? I love it. I fell in love with a new color, Navy Blue... Always saw that as a boring color, but I love the way it makes all the other colors POP, even the grey!

Lots of pink, of course, and yellow. I think it's quite happy, don't you? Made this in 3 days. It's another Travel Blanket. Nice and small... Just the way I like it!

This very simple edging has become my new favorite. Most of you know how I like simple edgings. When I've finally finished a blanket, I don't want to use an edging that's gonna take me hours more... And I think it keeps the focus on the most important thing, THE BLANKET.

I might be using the grey and the navy a bit more... There are still many MANY scraps left, so I have my work cut out for me. But first I'll enjoy my Thai friends for a few days, who I've missed for 2 years. Next week I will talk some Basic Action!

Update

I've been so busy with my Etsy shop, I almost forgot to make a post... I'm working on the Flower Coaster Tutorial and it's quite challenging for me. I hope to have it in my shop by the end of next week.

And this is the result of my Color Bomb Project from last week. I still need to finish of the loose ends, but seem to have misplaced my darning needles!!! I'm going crazy 'cause I can't find them! I must have some more somewhere, so I think I'll be okay.

It's always so much fun to work in many colors and with such a simple pattern. It's no work at all.

And even though this must be the simplest edge someone has ever used, I love it and think it suits the blanket just right. What do you think?

Daisy Travel Blanket

So, here it is! Finished! I really like how my Daisy Travel Baby Blanket turned out. It's small, (hence the name), and it's perfect for a stroller or a car seat.  If this won't make your baby happy I don't know what will...

As always it's very bright. And I designed a new edging. I like it. It's light and airy. 

This is the full blanket, 100 % mercerized cotton. It's 40 x 50 cm (about 16 x 20 "), so it is small. (It will fit in an envelope). Non the less, it's very pretty, don't you think?? And of course there will be a tutorial on the square.

Well, if you're fast this blanket can be yours. It's in my shop as of now. So be quick!!

Something Old

About a year ago I made this blanket, to be seen in this post. It's the softest blanket ever, made from Piima cotton, Pico from Lana Grossa. It's so nice and distensible (is this the right word in this context??).

I used different colors than I usually do, but I really like the results. And it's possible to use for a boy or a girl, to my opinion.

But, a year ago I didn't know what to do for an edging, so there was none. I just did a round of singel crochets and that was that. But last week I found a scrap of the pretty light green yarn and decided to give it another go...

With this as a result. I think it looks much better and you??

I made a little chart of the edging I used. I think it's a nice and easy edging for a granny project. 

I do kind of miss the other colors in this project... You know I'm a sucker for Color Bombs. But I still think it's sweet. And I didn't use the join-as-you-go method (forgot and already had all the squares done...) but sew them together. I do like the result. Maybe I should use it more often...

Pastel Color Bomb Blanket

Yes, it took me ages, I know... Actually, this blanket was finished a few weeks ago. Somehow I forgot to take pictures of it. I don't know why, 'cause I really think it's a beauty...

I love all the shades of pink. And I love that it's kind of pastel, although that's not my usual choice of colors... The yellow center is a nice contrast, I think.

It's very soft too (and heavy!!). I used 3 kinds of yarn, all 100 % cotton. Catania Grande (for the center), Creative Cotton and Drops Paris. I used a size 5,5 hook.

It matches perfectly with the Flower Square (Stroller) Blanket I made earlier. Same edging and colors. Think I'm gonna make a bigger edition too, someday... You can find a tutorial for the squares here.

I must say, looking at these pictures I'm quite proud. I think it's going to be in my Etsy shop (I'm opening in Januari 2014), but it might be hard to part from. Maybe I should make more...

Progress...

So I just wanted to show you the progress of this small baby blanket. I really like the colors and the edging too. Hope to have it finished next week. First my daughters' fourth birthday this weekend...

I'm in love with the color scheme and am going to use it for more projects. The final blanket can be used in a stroller for example or maybe a crib. The pattern is perfect for a smaller blanket than the usual baby blanket. Now I have to finish of those loos ends and also finish the edging.

I might just make a tutorial on this flower granny... Well, in a couple of weeks or so.

Hello Again

It's been a while... It was quite necessary for me. I did lots of reorganizing, cleaning up and relaxing. And yes, some crafting too. Not as much as I thought I would, 'cause I noticed I needed a break to get some fresh inspiration. I've spent little time watching the computer screen and more just chilling and doing family stuff. I'm not ready yet, but I feel some room for pictures and posts again.

As you can see the new couch arrived. I love it!! It's pretty and sits like heaven. Nice and ferm. And the shade of grey can be combined with every color that pops up in my head. Perfect for me. Can anybody tell me the English word for these flowers? In Dutch it's 'ranonkel', isn't the name just as pretty as the flower itself??

I finally took some time to make a curtain for an open shelve in the kitchen. I'm still not sure about the fabric (although both my girls love it (as do I)). It just doesn't seem to match with all the orange... So I just might change the fabric and sew a new curtain again.

Yesterday I bought some new yarn from Phildar, Phil Thalassa. Only the pink, witch I mixed with some Drops Paris and some Creative Coton. I always tend to mix different brands of cotton, 'cause not a single brand has all the colors I want (you now how greedy for color I am...). I quite like the result. And I still need to make 1 more. It's nice and springy, don't you think? The artwork above was made by me a few years ago with 2 vintage games of Pairs from the thrift store. We always stare at it during meals and have lots of conversations about it.

This is another project I'm working on. A few months ago I started a stripe-rainbow blanket. I hated it. I just don't like granny stripe blankets. So I pulled it all out and started this pastel-rainbow blanket. It's just sooo soft (and heavy). I hope it will be finished before winter, when we can use it, haha.
